Mats Christeen (MATS KRIHS-teen) · Defense Team: Sodertalje (Sweden) Shoots: Left · 6-1 · 181 lbs. Born: Sodertalje, Sweden · February 13, 1982 Drafted: 8th rd, 2000 (236th overall) Acquired: 2000 NHL Entry Draft Has good size...Plays hard and has shown the ability to play with pain...Shows mobility and has an effective skating style. (00-01 media guide) When Christéen was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, basically no one knew who he was. Now more than a year later Christéen is more known to the big crowd. He is a tough defenseman that plays secure defense and he has some offensive skills as well. Christéen is still very young and might have a hard time seeing ice-time in the elite league, but in a few years this guy could be player for the Swedish National Team. (www.eliteprospects.com) "He really loves the game. Not offensive, but a physical defenseman with good size. He's a good skater." (Lucas Bergman, Predators European amateur scout)
Marian Cisar (MAIR-eean sih-ZAHR) · Right Wing Team: Lukko (Finland) Shoots: Right · 6-0 · 197 lbs. Born: Bratislava, Czech Republic · February 25 , 1978 Drafted: 2nd rd, 1996 (37th overall) Acquired: From the LA Kings for future considerations (6-1-98)

Konstantin Glazachev () · Left Wing Team: Yaroslavl (Russia) Shoots: Right · 6-0 · 186 lbs. Born: Arkhangelsk, Russia · February 18, 1985 Drafted: 2nd rd, 2003 (35th overall) Acquired: 2003 NHL Entry Draft Good, solid, and fast skater...high overall skill level...very good stick handler and creative with the puck...has good hands...moves well in traffic...has a good shot...can improve his defensive game...excellent hockey sense...likes to play an aggressive and physical style...effective along the boards and in the corners...good, hard working competitor, a winner...a power-forward type of player...plays well under pressure...good team player. (Central Scouting Bureau) A big-game player who thrives under pressure, Glazachev may quickly become accustomed to the North American style of play with his aggressive style and strength on the puck. Glazachev is blessed with a good shot and solid puck skills, but has to watch out when overhandling the puck. (Mark Fishel and Kerry Gwydir-nyislanders.com) Konstantin Glazachev is a highly skilled forward who is ranked behind Nikolai Zherdev as the best offensive talent from Russia. He has good hockey sense, good hands, is very shifty, has a great shot, is deceptive and has a natural scoring touch. He plays a high-energy style with plenty of confidence and intensity. But he tends to over-handle the puck at times, which speaks to his immaturity. His skating is also in question. "He does not have great open-ice speed," said a European scout. "From end to end, he's not going to win a race. But inside the blueline, he is dangerous." Another downside is his size. Glazachev needs to beef up. He's a slight 186 pounds. But what he lacks in size, he makes up in skill, although he might need an attitude correction. Glazachev has earned himself a reputation as a diver this season and the fact that he drops to the ice at the slightest hook or obstruction foul did not go unnoticed. "He'll grow out of that because if he doesn't, he won't last," said a GM. (espn.com) Konstantin Glazachev is an average sized forward at 6'0 and about 186 pounds. He plays an aggressive and physical game, using his size to get what he wants. He is aggressive, and not averse to physical play, fighting hard next to the boards and in the open ice. Konstantin's shot is strong and precise. He is a sniper and this is his main weapon. Glazachev likes the slap shot, preferring to have a nice windup on his shots. Konstantin is a stable skater with good acceleration. His top speed is not very high, though he is very maneuverable and moves well through traffic. Glazachev is a technical forward with good stick handling and handles the puck very well. When he gets his stick on it, Konstantin is very creative with the puck. He sees the ice relatively well, but his vision is usually fixed on the net and he hasn't yet developed a really good sense of where his line mates are located. Glazachev tends to go for the net rather then pass off the puck, though, he has been improving in this category lately, tending to pass the puck to his teammates. Since this is a fairly new development, his passes are not yet crisp, though it's good to see him try. Still, he is more likely to drive to the net then feed a teammate during an attack. Defensively Glazachev tries to be useful, but again, Konstantin is a sniper and he usually looks for an opportunity to take off with the puck. He has lately improved his ethic in this category, though he still has a long way to go before he can be considered a defensive asset. Konstantin is good under pressure and doesn't usually panic when things aren't going his way. Outside the rink he is very friendly, sociable and has lots of friends in Yaroslavl. Konstantin Glazachev is a sniper who is comparable to another Russian - Detroit Red Wings prospect Igor Grigorenko. While he is improving his play on defense and in combination hockey, his bread and butter will always be his maneuverability in traffic, his strong shot and his ability to finish. The two players are about the same size and bring a similar, aggressive package to the rink. He fights hard for the puck and is a tenacious scoring threat. On the downside, he needs to expand his offensive arsenal to include better passing and also work on his defensive play. (www.russianprospects.com)

Sergei Soin () · Center Team: Krylja Sovetov (Russia) Shoots: Left · 6-0 · 175 lbs. Born: Moscow, Russia · March 31, 1982 Drafted: 2nd rd, 2000 (50th overall) Acquired: Trade with Colorado for Tomas Slovak (6-21-03) One great word that can describe Sergei Soin on the ice is "intensity". Sergei Soin possesses a great raw talent. He is an excellent skater with great pick up acceleration and overall skating speed. The burst at which he can accelerate makes him a standout against the best opponents. He also has great puck handling and a booming shot to go along with his speed. However, Sergei is not a complete package on offense due to his inability to see and use his linemates. He can make decent passes, but rarely uses his line mates, preferring to take the puck up the ice himself against entire opponent's team. Defensively, Sergei is very effective because he combines his explosive speed with great anticipation of the opponents moves. He can intercept a pass and explode into the offensive zone before the opponent can provide a sufficient defense. His rash judgment and over commitment can get him in trouble, but Sergei's exceptional reaction and quick decisions may develop into his key weapons as he becomes a smarter player. Sergei is also not afraid to fight for the puck next to the boards or take a hit. He is a solid forechecker and has a frame that can handle physical hockey. At some points in his career Sergei has been used as a defenseman, but during the 2001-02 season he established himself as a winger with the Soviet Wings in the Russian Super League. Overall, Sergei is a ball of energy and is a constant threat while he is on the ice. He is an exciting player to watch and will become more productive as he learns to better use his line mates. (00-01 media guide) Widing is a very talented player. He plays a good overall game and has impressive offensive skills. His skating is good and his attitude and work-ethics are also impressing. He is also a strong and tough player and Widing plays a very energetic game. Definitely NHL-potential. (www.eliteprospects.com)
